EPCs made simple

The UK, along with other countries, have made a commitment to lower the output of green house gases by 80% before 2050.

As part of this commitment the government has brought in a range of energy saving measures such as reduced price or in some cases free thermal insulation and also various new legislation.

Since October 2008, it is a legal requirement that almost all buildings that are available to let or for sale have a current Energy Performance Certificate ( EPC ). There are some exemptions which can viewed on our useful info page

The Energy Performance Certificate tells the potential buyer/tenant of your property how energy efficient it is. The energy efficiency rating is a measure of the overall efficiency and is represented on a scale of A-G , with ‘A’ being the highest score and ‘G’ being the lowest. The higher the rating the more energy efficient and the lower the fuel bills will be.

The EPCs are valid for a period of 10 years

We are fully accredited for carrying out both Domestic Energy Assessments ( DEA ), Non Domestic Energy Assessments ( NDEA ),  Commercial Energy Assessments ( CEA ) and Display Energy Certificates (DEC).

Our head office is in Newcastle upon Tyne, Tyne and Wear but also cover the areas from Yorkshire across to Cumbria and up to Scotland.
